Day 1 Beijing outskirts tour (L, D)

Schedule: Pick you up around 8:00 A.M from your hotel, then drive to the appealing Mutianyu Great Wall (80km), it is known for its beautiful surroundings. The section of Mutianyu Great Wall is not only beautiful, awesome but also an ideal choice to avoid the tourists' crowds at Badaling section. Hike along the Great Wall about 2 hours, and then move on to the Ming Tombs and its Sacred Way. On the way back to your hotel, you may have a photo stop at Beijing Olympic Village to take some pictures of the world-famed "Bird's Nest" and the "Water Cube" from the outside.

Day 2 Beijing city tour & Beijing-Lhasa train (L, D)

Schedule: Our driver and tour guide will pick you up from your hotel at 8:30 am. Firstly you will visit Tiananmen Square that is the world's biggest city plaza. Next to the Tiananmen Square, you will move on to the Forbidden City, the most complete imperial palace in China. Afterwards, visit the Jingshan Park to get the panoramic view of the whole Forbidden City and Beijing! After having Chinese lunch, we will drive you to the Temple of Heaven -- the largest ancient imperial worship architecture group in the world where the ancient Emperors prayed for peace and harvest. After dinner, our driver will see you off at Beijing West Train station there you can catch the train to Lhasa, Tibet.

In the morning, visit the symbol or landmark of Lhasa-Potala Palace, the successive Dalai Lama's winter residence. In the afternoon, visit the center of Tibetan Buddhism-Jorhkang Temple, where you will come across lots of devoted pilgrimages coming from every corner of Tibet. Both sites are under the list of the world cultural heritages by the UNISCO. Afterwards, free time for you to wander through the Backhor Street, the busiest street in old Lhasa quarter.

In the morning, we will visit Drepung Monastery which is the biggest Tibetan Buddhism College with the biggest number of monks in Tibet. The monastery used to be the winter residence of the Dalai Lama before the 5th Dalai Lama moved his residency to the Potala Palace. And in the afternoon, we will visit another influential Gelugpa Monastery-Sera Monastery, where the largest scale of scripture debating among monks is famous all across Tibet. We will watch the debate session and you may join in too with the help your guide.

Day 7: Lhasa-Gyantse-Shigatse (Tour of Tibetan holy lake & heroic city)

Schedule today: In the morning you'll start the drive to Shigatse, via Gyantse on the Southern Friendship Highway. Crossing over the summit of Kamba La (4794 m), you'll see the tranquil turquoise waters of Lake Yamdrok below; one of the three holiest lakes in Tibet. Far in the distance you'll spot the towering massif Mt. Nojin Kangtsang (7191 m), and the staggering Karo-la Glacier (5045 m). After arriving in Gyantse you'll have the choice to either stroll around town; explore Gyantse Fortress, the legendary battle site of the British invasion of Tibet; or visit the Pelcho Monastery & Kumbum Stupa. Afterwards, you'll drive to Shigatse, and overnight there.

Day8. Shigatse-Lhasa (Tour of Tibetan religion panorama)

Schedule: In the morning, we will visit the Panchen Lamas' seat-Tashilhumpo Monastery which was built in 1447 by the first Dalai Lama in Tibet. In the monastery placed a very giant statue of the Maitreya Buddha and is 26.2 metres (86 feet) in height. The relationship and stories between Dalai Lama and Panchen Lama are always interesting and tantalizing, a visit to it, you will grasp it all. Later in the afternoon, we will drive back to Lhasa; along the way, we can see the very gorges Brahmaputra River and valley.

Day 9: Lhasa-Next destination

Schedule: You will have some free time in Lhasa before our guide and driver go to your hotel to pick you up and transfer you to airport. See-off time depends on your flight departure time. Welcome to Tibet next time.

1. How do I get my permit in Beijing?
Our guide will hand it to you while you are on your tour in Beijing with us.
2. When and how can I pay the balance for the tour?
You can pay that at our office in Beijing or to our guide in Beijing. Also, to pay it in Lhasa at our office or to our Tibetan guide is also possibility.
3. How much it costs on lunch and dinner that not included in the quote?
Normally, it costs USD 5 for a dish with meat and vegetable in Beijing and Tibet, noodles and dumpling could be cheaper at about USD 3 per dish. So, it is not expensive if you choose normal food.
4. What is the tip standard to guide and driver in Beijing and Lhasa?
Tip is no compulsory but quite common in China and Tibet’s tourism, the amount of tip depends on service quality. Generally, you pay USD 10 per person per day to the guide if your group size is less than 4 people; also another USD 5 per person per day has to be paid to the driver. This standard refers to both guide and driver in Beijing and Lhasa.
