Day 1 Beijing city tour

Schedule: Today we will take you to the most famous Beijing tourist attractions: Tiananmen Square, Forbidden City and later, take a rickshaw Hutong tour, during which you can visit a local Beijing family too.

Day 2 Beijing outskirts tour

Schedule: In the morning, you will visit the Mutianyu Great Wall, known as the most beautiful sections of the Great Wall. Later, drive back to downtown to visit the Temple of Heaven, the place where the emperors of Ming and Qing Dynasties worshipped heaven and prayed for peace and harvest.

Day 3 Beijing-Lhasa flight

Highlights: First impression of Lhasa

Schedule: Pick you up from your hotel in the morning, and drive you to airport in Beijing to catch the flight bound for Lhasa. Our guide and driver in the holy city of Lhasa will pick you up at airport in Lhasa and then transfer you to the hotel booked for you. Today, we arrange no tour for you in order to let you rest and acclimatize better for the next day's guided tour. You can hang out by yourself to get the first impression of the holy city of Lhasa.

Day 4 Lhasa city tour

Highlights: Potala Palace, Johkang Temple, Backhor Street

Schedule: In the morning, visit the symbol or landmark of Lhasa-Potala Palace, the successive Dalai Lama's winter residence. In the afternoon, visit the center of Tibetan Buddhism--Johkang Temple, where you will come across lots of devoted pilgrimages coming from every corner of Tibet. Both sites are under the list of the world cultural heritages by the UNISCO.

Day 5 Lhasa city tour

Schedule: In the morning, we will visit Drepung Monastery which is the biggest Tibetan Buddhism College with the biggest number of monks in Tibet. The monastery used to be the winter residence of the Dalai Lama before the 5th Dalai Lama moved his residency to the Potala Palace. And in the afternoon, we will visit another influential Gelugpa Monastery-Sera Monastery, where the largest scale of scripture debating among monks is famous all across Tibet. We will watch the debate session and you may join in too with the help your guide.

Day 6 Tour ends, departure transfer to train station or airport. Welcome to Tibet next time.

1. How do I get my permit in Beijing?
Our guide will hand it to you while you are on your tour in Beijing with us.
2. When and how can I pay the balance for the tour?
You can pay that at our office in Beijing or to our guide in Beijing. Also, to pay it in Lhasa at our office or to our Tibetan guide is also possibility.
3. How much it costs on lunch and dinner that not included in the quote?
Normally, it costs USD 5 for a dish with meat and vegetable in Beijing and Tibet, noodles and dumpling could be cheaper at about USD 3 per dish. So, it is not expensive if you choose normal food.
4. What is the tip standard to guide and driver in Beijing and Lhasa?
Tip is no compulsory but quite common in China and Tibet’s tourism, the amount of tip depends on service quality. Generally, you pay USD 10 per person per day to the guide if your group size is less than 4 people; also another USD 5 per person per day has to be paid to the driver. This standard refers to both guide and driver in Beijing and Lhasa.
