Amusement park highlights Children’Day in Tibet

Dekyi Norbu Amusement Park, the one located in Lhasa with the highest altitude in the world has been officially opened to public on May, 31st, one day before the Children's Day.

Dekyi Norbu in Tibetan language means "happy baby". Therefore, it is mainly targeted at adolescents and youngsters. Its design emphasizes on the concept of returning to natural environment, human nature and essence of things. The amusement park, a green space municipal park with a public welfare nature, integrates ecology, culture, education, leisure and recreation into a whole, featuring both modernization and unique Tibetan culture.

This park is reported to cover a total area of 22,685 square meters, with a 4,281-square-meter structure area and an investment of 75 billion yuan.

The Dekyi Norbu Amusement Park is another project that echoes the plan of the Fifth Forum on the Work of Tibet. With a full year's efforts, the amusement park which is comparable to those of China's inland cities in terms of hardware has started operation as planned, adding another landmark scenic spots to Lhasa that combines a flavor of culture and entertainment.

Various rides and attractions have been set up according to the characteristics of the climate on the plateau. For example, there is a high-altitude Ferris wheel in this park. Visitors are able to enjoy the fun of scaling new heights in slow and smooth ride. While in the capsule, they can look far to appreciate the panoramic view of Lhasa including the Potala Palace, the Drepung Monastery and the Lhasa River. Besides, other challenging and exciting rides such as the Blade and the Ripsaw offers an opportunity to touch the cloud in the sky.
