Tibet promotes tourism in Changsha

26-11-2012 | From: tibet.cn

Tibet’s winter tourism products became the focus of a fair held on Nov 24th, 2012.

The tourism fair, held by Southwest China’s Tibet Autonomous Region in Changsha, capital city of central China’s Hunan Province aims to attract more visitors from Hunan to go to Tibet during the winter period.

The fair proved to be a grand feast for tourism departments, tourism companies and travel agencies from both sides.

According to a tourism official of Tibet, this year’s winter tourism season lasts from October 15th to April 15th next year.

"Planning a winter trip to Tibet is really worthwhile. Favorable temperature, discounted tour price, striking winter scenery all account for the reason for a winter tour there," said a Tibet travel agency staff.

Tibet’s winter tourism has been fruitful in recent years guided by the principle of "walking out to promote and bringing in with preferential policies”. In 2011, its winter tourist number increased by 48%. And surveys showed that more than 70% of the tourists expressed their willingness to revisit Tibet in the future.
