After the world famous Qinghai-Tibet railway opening in 2006 with origin station from Xining, this western city become more and more known to the world. Day 1 Flight or Train to Xining

Schedule: Our guide and driver will pick you up at Xining, the capital city of Qinghai province, which is known as China's Summer Resort for its comfortable temperature in summer. After check-in at hotel, we drive to visit Great Dongguan Mosque in the afternoon. Dongguan Mosque has a history more than 600 years, and it is one of four largest mosques in China. The free time is on your own today after visiting the mosque; you can visit the local night market.
Day 2 Xining-Qinghai Lake-Xining

Schedule: After breakfast, drive (150km) to the Qinghai Lake that is the largest salty lake in China. In each August and September, the yellow rape flowers wave in the wind, yaks, horses and sheep feed themselves in grassland. In distance, the snow-capped mountains stand high against the white clouds in the blue sky. Back from the Qinghai Lake, we will visit Tibetan Medicine Museum of China which is the first and largest one in China. The Thangka and murals inside took hundreds of artists more than 4 years to complete, it is not just a medicine museum but also an encyclopedic treasure house for Tibetan culture and arts.
Day 3 Xining-Next destination

Schedule: Visit the Kumbum Monastery, also known as Ta'er Monastery, is a Buddhist monastery in Xining. The monastery is the birthplace of Tsongkhapa, the founder of the Gelugpa (Yellow Hat) sect of Tibetan Buddhism. Kumbum was founded in 1583 in a narrow valley close to the village of Lusar in the Tibetan cultural region of Amdo. Its superior monastery is Drepung, immediately to the west of Lhasa. It was ranked in importance as second only to Lhasa. Then, back to downtown to visit the Former Residence of Ma Bufang who was the governor of Qinghai Province of the former National Government of Chiang Kai-shek. See you off at train station or airport in Xining afterwards.
